Demand an investigation into indiscriminate police firing After Juma Prayers near Macca Masjid, Hyderabad

According to various reports five people were killed and seven others were injured in police firing during protests that followed the bomb blasts at Macca Masjid in Hyderabad, India. Several of the victims have been shot above the waist. As per rules of engagement police must start with warning fires and than at the feet to disperse the crowd and prevent fatalities; but the police fired at the demonstrating crowd, the very first round above waist-level. Eye witnesses say the police fired live bullets without provocation.

11 Killed and over 50 injured in bomb blasts.
5 Killed and 7 injured in police firing.

IMC - USA urges all concerned to immediately call and write to the authorities and demand the following.

1. CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) Inquiry of the police shootings.
2. Suspension and prosecution of Police officers involved.
3. Ask why did police fired above waist right from the beginning?
4. Ask why were self-loading rifles used?
5. Ask how many inquiries are going on? If so what is the progress? Who is in charge of each inquiry?
